Description
Women in Trauma Surgery: Shoulder and Upper Arm (Level II)
Endoscopic Spine Surgery:
Description
This advanced one-day course is designed exclusively as a platform for women in orthopedic trauma surgery, bringing together female surgeons at different stages of their careers to learn, exchange experiences and build professional networks. Based on the principle of “by women, for women” the course highlights the expertise, perspectives and achievements of female surgeons while fostering mentorship, collaboration and professional development within the orthopedic trauma community. Alongside these career-focused objectives, participants will deepen their knowledge of the assessment and surgical management of shoulder and upper arm injuries. Through expert-led lectures, case discussions and practical sessions, experienced female faculty will share contemporary treatment strategies, technical pearls and personal insights from clinical practice. The course aims to empower participants both as surgeons and as future leaders, educators and advocates within trauma surgery.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to apply current principles and surgical techniques for the management of common and complex shoulder and upper arm fractures, including appropriate decision-making, preoperative planning and implant selection. They will strengthen their ability to critically evaluate clinical cases and discuss treatment strategies with peers and faculty. In addition, participants will gain valuable insights into career development, leadership opportunities, mentorship and the importance of diversity within orthopedic trauma surgery. They will expand their professional network, learn from the experiences of successful female surgeons and develop strategies to support their own professional growth. Through this exchange, participants will be encouraged to actively contribute to the advancement, visibility, and representation of women in trauma surgery.
